A little over a year ago, Ultimate Ears rolled out the first of its metal in-canal earphones, Super.Fi 4vi; now the Logitech-owned company has debuted Ultimate Ears 700 ($230), a pair of amazingly small dual-driver earphones with similarly cool metallic styling. With similar footprints to the similarly wow-thats-tiny JAYS q-JAYS, Ultimate Ears 700 comes packaged with a plastic hard case, silicone rubber and foam Comply eartips, plus a sound level attenuator. We’ll let you know whether the double-driver design is more like Apple’s anemic In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic, or like the well-balanced q-JAYS, very soon — in any case, the liquid silver housings are a real design triumph for UE.
